Wendy Williams is both a practicing graphic designer and a lecturer in Design History at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, having completed her Design History MA there in 2004. Her passion for both design and history have influenced the direction of her practice, specialising in design for museums and galleries she has completed around 40 museum display projects in the last fifteen years. Recent projects include the permanent military history exhibition, 'Soldiers and Chiefs', at the National Museum of Ireland, Dublin and a temporary exhibition, 'Hidden Landscape: Searching for the lost kingdom of Mide' for the National Roads Authority. Her involvement with 'Soldiers and Chiefs', has stimulated recent enquiry into Irish military graphic ephemera. Other research interests include institution and interpretation in design, political and satirical ephemera and the design of 19th and early 20th century food packaging.
